Introduction

My name is ALAN MITCHELL

it has been several years now since I was involved in motor racing

I  have very fond memories of "the good times", so I decided to create this site to tell a story and revive the past.

I first got involved as the chief mechanic back in 1975 at Silverstone with the     JIM RUSSELL RACING DRIVERS SCHOOL

We had a fleet of 14 Formula Ford Merlin Racing cars until they were changed to the super new Van Diemen RF77.

I was also chief Mechanic for the Royal Formula Ford Sponsored by Cromptom Lighting with JIM WALSH as driver.  We - WON - the ESSO FORMULA FORD CHAMPIONSHIP TWICE.

The racing school changed to the SILVERSTONE RACING DRIVERS SCHOOL and continued to run 14 Formula Ford Cars and also a Scholarship. The prize was a full sessions racing at competition level in the Esso championship.

BRP-British Racing Prospects was formed at Silverstone, and was a TEAM of competitive Formula Ford Racing Cars for hire.

I bought the assets of the British Racing Prospects team and started my own team - AMITY RACING
